Feature
Cases that teach
Slice to a structure, mark it, caption it, and save it as a moment. Replay moments like slides, share the whole case in one gesture, or hand out a PDF.
Moments
Any view can be saved as a moment with "Save this view". A moment remembers the stage, the slice or camera position, the window, and any mark you drew, plus a caption. Moments line up in a strip and replay like slides, which makes a case a self-contained lesson. How to save and replay moments.
Notes that travel
Each case carries notes. Write the learning objectives, the questions to answer, or the answer key, and they go wherever the case goes.
Sharing and batch import
The share button exports the case as a single file: the anonymised volume, moments, notes and the traced arch. AirDrop it to a classroom of devices or post it to a course folder. A recipient opens it in JawAtlas and it imports in one step; a folder full of cases imports in one batch. How sharing works.
PDF summary
Export produces a PDF of the marked views with captions and notes, with the education-only disclaimer on every page. It is a handout, not a report.
Built on anonymised data
Because the importer never stores identifying tags, a case file carries no patient name, ID or birth date. Use openly licensed data where you can; free CBCT datasets lists sources, and the bundled demo scan is a ready-made first case.
Questions students ask
How do students receive a case?
Share it from the share button; AirDrop is the fastest path in a room. The recipient opens the file in JawAtlas and it is imported in one step. A folder of shared cases can be batch-imported.
What travels with a case?
The anonymised volume, the saved moments with their marks and captions, the case notes and the traced arch for the panoramic.
Can I share a scan that contains patient data?
JawAtlas strips identifying DICOM tags at import, so the case file holds no name or ID. Even so, only share scans you have permission to use for teaching, and prefer openly licensed data.
What is in the PDF?
A summary of your marked views with their captions and notes, with the education-only disclaimer on every page.
JawAtlas is an education and training aid. It is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment planning or any clinical decision.
